“James & Georgia”
– Verana, Yelapa –
There’s a pretty well kept secret that I sometimes will perform ceremonies as I am an officiant. It’s something I enjoy doing but only do it rarely and this was such an occasion. In my line of work, I’ve seen and been part of nearly a hundred ceremonies and many of them bring me close to tears … well, this time I actually cried during the ceremony – that I was giving – that’s how moving Georgia’s and James’ vows were too each other and the incredible love that was flowing all around everyone at their wedding ceremony.
This wasn’t a typical “design me a wedding” kind of wedding. It started out as being the minister. And then progressed to bridal flowers. Then a chuppah. Then some floating lanterns. Then some centerpieces. It was the very first wedding where a bride actually made a place card – just for me. This was the first time I had ever been to Verana in Yelapa – it’s a special place (with an AMAZING staff!) … and an incredibly remote place – hauling equipment up up up was not what I was expecting but what a good work out and completely worth it for these two incredibly gracious, remarkable kind and caring people. Honestly, my December was full of the most amazing love at the weddings I participated in and gratitude flowed all around me. When people are gracious and kind (as all my December couples were) you want to give them the stars, the sun, the moon. This was a month that made me remember why I love doing what I do. And I thank Georgia & James, Kristi & Justin for that.
